A close up is used in the scene to show the actor's facial expression and how his reacting to his every day life and job. This is effective because later on in the clip you start to see the difference into his facial expressions when something new and unexpected happens.

The background is dark and dull, this matches his current mood and thoughts. This shows the audience that places that he goes go matches with his life and he has to live with it

The director uses a wide shot to show that the man is now useless because there is nothing in his surrounding that could help him get free. The shot also makes it look like his being watched by the printer, bacause it was the printer that printed the black hole and maybe that was the printer's plan all along to get the man trapped in some way.

This shot shows the actor reaction towards the object that he has just discover. On the other hand it is also direct address has the actor is looking straight towards the audience, this helps to get the audience's attention and helps to get the audience involved in the movie/clip.

The colour scheme of this short clip is dark which create a sense of mystery. This relates to the theme that with this black hole you dont know what he will do with it next, while its building to the climax of him falling into the money safe and being locked/trapped in there.
