Casting

For casting we research on actors who can bring a character to life and really show the emotions that a character is feeling. We wanted someone who can change personallity as a character professionally, we came across an actor named Connor Simpson who is a young actor from London, Crawley area. We decided to pick him as the lead role because we felt from his previous performance that he will give his all energy to deliver the best acting performance he can.

We also did some interview with this actor to understand from his point of view what its like to be part of this short film.

Why did you want to be part of this short film of 'Jeff The Killer'?

My agency contacted about the development of this student film and my interest quickly sparked! Jeff The Killer is a character of my generation, Like generations before have had Jason and Freddy, we have Jeff. As an actor it's exciting to get the chance to bring such an iconic character to life in this film.

What is it like being on set?

Working on the set was a fantastic experience, as an actor I've had a lot of freedom to explore as the character. Similarly the director offered advice and direction to help us create the character.

Co-Director giving the actor directions.

We carried out our casting research trying to find an appropriate cast member to represent the character of 'steve' who is a thug in the movie and follows the codes and conventions of a stereotypical african american thug. During the search we found a suitable actor that we think could play the part of this character. Jordan Bertrand is another actor from the London area, Crawley. We have contacted this actor and explained what our vision is and he told us what he can bring to the table to make this a successful movie.
